About Me

Hello I’m Christopher Hamilton, welcome to my little corner of the web.

I’m a writer and communications professional in elite sport from Edinburgh, Scotland.

In my day job, I’m the Head of Communications and Marketing for World Curling, who are the International Governing Body for the Olympic sport of curling and Paralympic sport of wheelchair curling.

The day job has taken me to two Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games so far — PyeongChang 2018 and Beijing 2022 — and I’m currently preparing to take my team to Milano Cortina 2026.

It also gave me the opportunity to be the Managing Editor for World Curling’s book about the history of curling in the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games: “Granite and Gold: Curling’s Olympic and Paralympic Journey”.

In 2024 I started the Winter Olympic Federations Communications Group. The group includes all of the Heads of Communications for the seven Olympic winter sports, as well as a few other key people in the community. The group allows us to share best practices, offer each other advice and speak in one cohesive voice to improve the communications around winter sports.

It’s a very small tight-knit group and has already proven to be a valuable resource for us all. I’m quite proud to have started it and I’ve already learned a lot from the exceptionally talented people who are members.

In my “spare” time, I offer the occasional communications consultation as well as editing, ghostwriting and executive communications services on a freelance basis.

While I don’t do this a lot at the moment, feel free to get in touch if you have an interesting project you want to discuss.

It’s very rare to find me without a strong coffee in my hand. I’m always on the lookout for great places to try and great beans to use at home. All recommendations are welcome.

Though I’ve stepped back from a lot of social media, you can find me on BlueSky.

I’m also on a mission to reboot my love for reading by trying to read at least 200 books in 2025.

You can get in touch about anything on any of the platforms linked above, or drop a comment into one of the posts on the site, but the best way is always to just email me.
